Jurnal Kesehatan Pengabdian Masyarakat (JKPM) is committed to maintaining academic integrity and preventing plagiarism and other forms of inappropriate text reuse. All submitted manuscripts are subject to plagiarism and similarity screening as part of the journal's editorial quality-control process.

Plagiarism Screening Procedure

JKPM conducts plagiarism screening using Turnitin, a similarity-detection software, before an article is formally published. The screening is conducted by the editorial team after the manuscript has undergone the required editorial and peer-review processes and before the final publication stage.

The maximum acceptable similarity index is 20%. The similarity index is used as an initial screening indicator and is not, by itself, considered definitive evidence of plagiarism.

In interpreting Turnitin results, the editorial team considers the nature, source, and context of the identified similarities. Legitimate similarities, such as commonly used technical terminology, standard methodological expressions, references, quotations that are properly cited, or other unavoidable textual matches, may be considered differently from unattributed copying of another author's work.

Editorial Action Based on Similarity Results

• Similarity index ≤20%: The manuscript may proceed to the next publication stage, provided that no substantial evidence of plagiarism or other ethical violations is identified.

• Similarity index >20%: The manuscript will be subject to further editorial assessment. Authors may be required to revise the relevant sections and provide clarification regarding the identified similarities.

• Substantial unattributed similarity or evidence of plagiarism: The journal may reject the manuscript or take other appropriate action in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics Policy and applicable scholarly publishing standards, regardless of the overall similarity percentage.

Authors are responsible for ensuring that all ideas, statements, data, quotations, figures, tables, and other materials originating from other sources are appropriately acknowledged and cited.

A low similarity score does not automatically guarantee that a manuscript is free from plagiarism. Conversely, a similarity score above 20% does not automatically establish plagiarism. Editorial judgment and examination of the sources and context of the similarities remain essential.

Timing of Screening

Plagiarism screening is conducted before the final publication of an accepted article. The editorial team may also conduct additional similarity checks at other stages of the editorial process when considered necessary.

If substantial text similarity or suspected plagiarism is identified after publication, JKPM may investigate the matter and take appropriate action, including publication of a correction, editorial notice, or retraction, depending on the severity and circumstances of the case.

Authors' Responsibility

By submitting a manuscript to JKPM, authors confirm that the manuscript is original, has not been published previously, is not under simultaneous consideration by another journal, and properly acknowledges all sources used in the preparation of the manuscript.

Authors are responsible for reviewing and correcting any inappropriate text reuse before final publication.

JKPM reserves the right to reject manuscripts or take appropriate editorial action when plagiarism or other forms of publication misconduct are identified.
