Retraction

Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan is committed to maintaining the integrity and reliability of the scientific record. The journal follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Retraction Guidelines in handling cases where published articles are found to contain serious errors, ethical violations, or research misconduct.

An article published in Sanitasi: Jurnal Kesehatan Lingkungan may be considered for retraction if:

  1. There is clear evidence that the findings are unreliable, either due to research misconduct (such as data fabrication, data falsification, or manipulation) or honest errors (such as calculation mistakes or methodological errors).
  2. The findings have been previously published elsewhere without appropriate acknowledgment, cross-referencing, permission, or justification, resulting in redundant or duplicate publication.
  3. The article contains plagiarism or significant misuse of other authors' work without proper attribution.
  4. The research violates ethical standards, including unethical research practices involving human participants, animals, or other research subjects.
  5. The article contains undisclosed conflicts of interest that may have influenced the research findings or publication decision.
  6. There is evidence of authorship manipulation, including inappropriate attribution or unauthorized changes to authorship.

Retraction Procedure

The decision to retract an article is made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Board and relevant experts when necessary.

Before retraction, the journal will conduct an investigation following COPE recommendations and provide authors with an opportunity to respond to the concerns raised.

If retraction is considered necessary, the journal will publish a retraction notice that:

  • Clearly identifies the retracted article;
  • States the reason for retraction;
  • Provides a transparent explanation of the issue;
  • Remains permanently linked to the original article.

Retracted articles will remain available in the journal archive with a clear retraction label to maintain transparency and preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
